What we do

The Foundation is focused on developing a national movement for social entrepreneurship. The Foundation currently supports:

Enterprising Non-Profits Alberta (enp-ab):  provides funding and educational opportunities for Alberta-based non-profit organizations to evaluate and enhance their social enterprises.  Intro to Social Enterprise workshops are held throughout the year and are pre-requisite for organizations interested in obtaining business development funding from Trico Charitable Foundation.

Social EnterPrize: an award program established by Trico Charitable Foundation to recognize Canadian leaders and non-profit organizations that are effectively using social enterprise to deepen their community impact. The inaugural Social EnterPrize conference was held November 17, 2011 in Calgary, Alberta.

Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF):  Trico Charitable Foundation is the founding partner of CYBF Alberta’s “socialpreneur” program. This initiative provides funding and support for young social business entrepreneurs throughout Alberta. Recently we have developed some excellent social purpose business resources in partnership with CYBF.

Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) 2013 Calgary, Oct 2-4: This gathering will be a watershed moment, galvanizing the social enterprise movement, propelling it into the mainstream, and raising social impact to new levels. This special occasion has led to historic collaborations
