#FF: Follow Friday My Sister’s Closet (via @EndingViolence) from Vancouver, British Columbia

Ever had one of those days when your closet indicates that you need something new to wear, but your bank balance doesn’t quite agree?  If you’re a Vancouver-based fashionista, you don’t need to have such bank-closet disputes! Be good to both your wallet and your closet by visiting My Sister’s Closet, where you’ll find thrift clothing and new fashions produced by local designers and artisans.

Operated by Battered Women’s Supports Services (BWSS), My Sister’s Closet supports zero waste and eco fashion by retailing new and thrift clothing. Revenues from the boutique are directed toward funding BWSS programs, such as violence prevention, intervention services, counselling, and workshops. As their website states, BWSS is in business to end violence against women. Considering they assist over 8,000 women a year, it’s clear they are making significant headway toward realizing such an important goal.
