Everyone loves going to the movies, right? Well if you’re a Winnipeg-based film aficionado, you have yet another reason to take in a flick because you have access to the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque. In operation for the past 30 years, this artist-run social enterprise promotes the art of cinema through screenings, events, and panel discussions. Cinematheque supports artistic achievement and excellence, and places an emphasis on presenting films produced in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Canada.
In addition to showing the very best in Canadian and world films, Cinematheque offers facility and equipment rentals, filmmaking workshops, and an online merchandise store. Located in Winnipeg’s Exchange District, screenings take place year-round from Wednesday to Sunday to satisfy your cinematic entertainment needs.
