It takes a team, now you can take your team!
The Trico Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce that organizations winning the 2015 Social EnterPrize can now bring a total of three members of their social enterprise team to the Social Finance Forum (SFF) in Toronto on November 12-13, 2015 and join on stage to receive the award.
That means we are covering their flight, accommodation and registration.
Trico Foundation added this feature to the benefits because we realized two things:
1) we wanted to get away from the lone entrepreneur myth (we know it takes a team) and
2) we think the winning organizations will benefit from having more than one team member soak in all the wisdom and expertise available at the SFF.
The idea was inspired by Michele Fugiel Gartner’s attendance at the recent number of events in the United Kingdom, including Marmalade and the Skoll World Forum Awards. Fugiel Gartner is the Trico Foundation’s Director of Strategic Investments and Evaluation and leads the Foundation’s work in the United Kingdom. Explains Fugiel Gartner:
“We are seeing a maturing of the social enterprise dialogue in Canada, one that has primarily been targeted toward the founders of social enterprises. There has been great success in building awards and offering supports for individual social entrepreneurs. However, we know that it takes a team to build a strong organization. We believe that the next level of the conversation will include how to build strong, diverse teams for social enterprises and seeing social enterprise as a career. We feel fortunate to have the Social EnterPrize award as a way to kick-start that conversation and to shine the light more broadly across the organization.”
The awards will be formally presented during a luncheon on November 12, 2015 at the Social Finance Forum in Toronto.
