Trico Foundation & Social Entrepreneurship: 2019 in Review

Happy New Year! The start of 2020 gives us the opportunity to reflect and learn from 2019. The past twelve months were busy, historic, and made great progress in advancing both social entrepreneurship and Calgary’s role as a hub for social entrepreneurship:

  • the 2019 Social EnterPrize;
  • piloting A.S.E.S.S. workshops;
  • the hiring of a Liaison for Calgary’s Student Social Entrepreneurs;
  • the third year of hiring a social entrepreneur summer student;
  • the collaboration between Trico Foundation & the Haskayne School of Business;
  • past Social EnterPrize recipients’ journeys and learnings;
  • the first ever What’s Next YYC;
  • the 2nd edition of SVI Alta;
  • the 1st full year of the Trico Changemaker Studio at MRU;
  • a Canadian student (again!) won the international Map the System contest;
  • and the announcement of the Trico Foundation Social Entrepreneurship Centre.
