The NU Community Board has hit the ground running for our second year running the NU National Awards for Outstanding Student Social Entrepreneurship. Happy New Year! The start of 2022 gives us the opportunity to reflect and learn from 2021. Although 2021 came with its many challenges, the past twelve months were busy, historic, and made great progress in advancing both social entrepreneurship and Calgary’s role as a hub for social entrepreneurship.
Prizes have the power to incentivize and the Trico Charitable Foundation has delivered $270,000 to social enterprises in Canada to help advance their work in using business models to solve social problems. Social enterprises across the early, middle and advanced stages were celebrated at the Pivot on Purpose Summit delivered in collaboration with the Haskayne School of Business.
