Happy New Year! The start of 2022 gives us the opportunity to reflect and learn from 2021. Although 2021 came with its many challenges, the past twelve months were busy, historic, and made great progress in advancing both social entrepreneurship and Calgary’s role as a hub for social entrepreneurship:
- Delivered $270,000 to social enterprises in Canada to help advance their work in using business models to solve social problems;
- Social enterprises across the early, middle and advanced stages were celebrated at the first virtual Pivot on Purpose Summit delivered in collaboration with the Haskayne School of Business;
- $100,000 Social EnterPrize goes to Aisle International;
- NU Community Board announces National and Provincial Student Social Entrepreneurship awards;
- “Ask Me Anything About Social Entrepreneurship” Webinar Series Launches;
- IRP recipient spotlights;
- 10 Questions with our top 10 What’s Next YYC finalists;
- 10 Questions with our three semi-finalists for the Social EnterPrize award; and
- some of our favourite social enterprise’s journeys.
